Key: how to read this page

The Bill is shown clause by clause (then Schedule by Schedule). Where a clause or Schedule paragraph amends an existing Act, the affected provision is shown underneath in a shaded box, as it would read once the change is applied: insertions underlined, deletions struck through, pulled from legislation.gov.uk. A clause with no shaded box makes new law of its own rather than amending an existing Act. Text shown lightened and in italics is not yet in force.

An unofficial reading aid: always verify against the Bill and the legislation. Nothing here is legal advice.

Explanatory Notes · published by the Government with the Bill
112. Clause 16 provides a power to allow the Secretary of State to make consequential amendments, enabling existing and limited future legislation to be amended via secondary legislation. This includes the ability to amend, repeal or revoke provisions made by or under an Act passed before the Bill, or later in the same session as the Bill. 113. This power intends to ensure that further minor or technical changes can be made by regulations if needed to ensure the new appeals system can operate effectively in practice, particularly as it is to be implemented in stages. 114. The clause also provides that any reference to a tribunal in primary or secondary legislation will apply to the IIAA unless regulations are made to amend it.
